2016 Will Be A \u2018Cataclysmic Year\u2019 And \u2018Investors Should Be Afraid\u2019<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

\"Royal<\/a>The Royal Bank of Scotland is telling clients that 2016 is going to be a \u201ccataclysmic year\u201d and that they should \u201csell everything\u201d.\u00a0 This sounds like something that you might hear from\u00a0The Economic Collapse Blog<\/em>, but up until just recently you would have never expected to get this kind of message from one of the twenty largest banks on the entire planet.\u00a0 Unfortunately, this is just another indication that a major global financial crisis\u00a0has begun<\/a>\u00a0and that we are now entering a\u00a0bear market<\/a>.\u00a0 The collective market value of companies listed on the S&P 500 has dropped\u00a0by about a trillion dollars<\/a>\u00a0since the start of 2016, and panic is spreading like wildfire all over the globe.\u00a0 And of course when the Royal Bank of Scotland comes out and openly says that \u201cinvestors should be afraid\u201d that certainly is not going to help matters.<\/p>\n

It amazes me that the Royal Bank of Scotland is essentially saying the exact same thing that I have been saying for months.\u00a0 Just like I have been telling my readers, RBS has observed that global markets \u201care flashing the same stress alerts as they did before the Lehman crisis in 2008\u2033<\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n

RBS has advised clients to brace for a\u00a0\u201ccataclysmic year\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0a global deflationary crisis<\/strong>, warning that the major stock markets could fall by a fifth and oil may reach US$16 a barrel.<\/p>\n

The bank\u2019s credit team said markets\u00a0are flashing the same stress alerts as they did before the Lehman crisis in 2008.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So what should our response be to these warning signs?<\/p>\n

According to RBS, the logical thing to do is to\u00a0\u201csell everything\u201d<\/a>\u00a0excerpt for high quality bonds\u2026<\/p>\n
