In the world of alternatives in the same days, not much was different. For two centuries, to say \u201ccooperative\u201d in continental Europe or in South America automatically meant \u201cworker cooperative,\u201d and it was the most powerful community movement of the time. Israeli \u201ckibbutzim\u201d (communities) were founded to create a productive base in the wastelands of Jewish migration in Asia.
