Christmas 2015\u2014\u2013Why There Is No Peace On Earth<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/header>\n

After\u00a0the\u00a0Berlin Wall fell in November 1989 and the death of the Soviet Union was confirmed two years later\u00a0when Boris\u00a0Yeltsin courageously stood down the\u00a0red army tanks in front of\u00a0Moscow\u2019s White House, a dark era in human history came to an end.<\/div>\n

The world had descended\u00a0into\u00a0what had been a 77-year global war, incepting with the mobilization of the armies of\u00a0old Europe in August\u00a01914.\u00a0If you want to count bodies, 150 million were killed by all the depredations which germinated in the Great War, its\u00a0foolish\u00a0aftermath at Versailles, and the march of\u00a0history into the\u00a0world war and cold war\u00a0which followed inexorably\u00a0thereupon.<\/p>\n

To wit,\u00a0upwards of 8% of the human race was wiped-out during that span. The toll\u00a0encompassed the\u00a0madness of trench warfare during 1914-1918; the murderous regimes of Soviet and Nazi totalitarianism that rose\u00a0from the ashes of the Great War and Versailles; and then\u00a0the carnage of WWII and all the lesser (unnecessary) wars and invasions of the Cold War including Korea and Vietnam.<\/p>\n

I have elaborated more\u00a0fully on this proposition in\u00a0\u201cThe Epochal Consequences Of Woodrow Wilson\u2019s War<\/a>\u201c<\/strong><\/em>, but the seminal point cannot be gainsaid. The\u00a0end of the cold war meant\u00a0world peace was finally\u00a0at hand, yet\u00a025 years later there is still\u00a0no peace because Imperial Washington confounds it.<\/p>\n

In fact, the War Party entrenched in\u00a0the nation\u2019s capital\u00a0is dedicated to\u00a0economic interests and ideological perversions that guarantee perpetual\u00a0war; they ensure\u00a0endless waste on armaments and the inestimable death and human suffering that stems\u00a0from 21st century high tech warfare\u00a0and the\u00a0terrorist blowback it inherently generates among those upon which the War Party inflicts its violent\u00a0hegemony.<\/p>\n
