{"id":14875,"date":"2015-11-28T10:02:36","date_gmt":"2015-11-28T15:02:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=14875"},"modified":"2015-11-28T10:02:36","modified_gmt":"2015-11-28T15:02:36","slug":"new-ebola-cases-surface-in-ebola-free-liberia-the-threat-remains","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=14875","title":{"rendered":"New Ebola Cases Surface in \u201cEbola Free\u201d Liberia: \u201cThe Threat Remains\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shtfplan.com\/headline-news\/new-ebola-cases-surface-in-ebola-free-liberia-the-threat-remains_11272015\" target=\"_blank\">New Ebola Cases Surface in \u201cEbola Free\u201d Liberia: \u201cThe Threat Remains\u201d<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24147\" src=\"http:\/\/shtfplan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/ebola-suit.jpg\" alt=\"ebola-suit\" width=\"480\" height=\"320\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The threat from ebola remains quite real, and there is legitimate concern over whether or not the world\u2019s health experts are really capable of containing it.<\/p>\n<p>The West African nation of Liberia has once again been reminded that it must remain vigilant and mindful of the terrible power that ebola has in its capacity to transform into a deadly epidemic.<\/p>\n<p>Just months after being declared ebola free \u2013 twice now \u2013 the country has again been plagued by new cases.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities aren\u2019t sure how the recent outbreak of ebola happened, but know that it could once again be spreading.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.livescience.com\/52919-new-ebola-death-liberia.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Live Science<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0reports:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>The death of a 15-year-old boy from Ebola in Liberia \u2014 a country that has been declared free of the disease twice \u2014 raises the question of why cases are still popping up in the country, experts say.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The teenager, who died Tuesday (Nov. 24), tested positive for the disease last week.\u00a0<strong>His brother and father are also infected, and more than 150 people with whom the boy may have come into contact are now being monitored, according to Reuters.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is concerning and somewhat surprising,\u201d said Dr. Amesh Adalja, an infectious-disease specialist and a senior associate at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center\u2019s Center for Health Security.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Among other factors, health workers learned during the most recent outbreaks that the virus for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.naturalnews.com\/049586_Ebola_semen_STD.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>ebola can turn up in sperm long after<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0the ordinary incubation period and\/or recovery, and can be spread through sexual contact \u2013 even six months later:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Ebola could be sexually transmitted as much as six months or more after a patient has fully recovered from the disease, the World Health Organization (WHO) and U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have now warned based on recent findings.
