Given that the the U.S. and its allies are largely responsible for\u00a0creating<\/em>\u00a0ISIS<\/a>, and that U.S., Turkey and Israel have all been\u00a0acting as ISIS\u2019 air force<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 they are not taking too kindly to Russia\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n

This Wall Street Journal headline sums up the absurdity of the situation:\u00a0 \u201cRussian Airstrike in Syria Targeted CIA-Backed Rebels, U.S. Officials Say<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

We noted years ago that a\u00a0proxy war is raging in Syria<\/a>\u00a0\u2026 but things are getting even more over-heated.<\/p>\n

Political risk\u00a0expert<\/a>\u00a0Ian Bremmer\u00a0sums up<\/a>\u00a0the situation:<\/p>\n

Russian forces will be striking Assad enemies, some of whom are directly supported by the US and its allies.\u00a0That\u2019s not a proxy war. It\u2019s\u00a0one step closer<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
