When The Advanced Keynesian Disease Afflicts A Nation\u2014\u2013Japan\u2019s Abe Goes Full Fantasy-tard With 3 New \u2018Arrows\u2019<\/a><\/h3>\n

Having completed his militarist plans, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe appears to have gone full fantasy-tard with his latest \u201cplans\u201d for the demographically-dead and debt-destroyed nation.\u00a0\u201cCreating a strong economy will continue to be my top priority,\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Abe said, a goal he has stunningly under-achieved as\u00a0Japan heads for its 5th recession in 4 years<\/u><\/a>, but, as Bloomberg reports, it is his new \u201carrows\u201d of economic hope that has left analysts scratching their heads \u2013\u00a020% economic growth(when its gone nowhere for years)<\/u><\/em><\/a>, a higher birth rate (as theaging of the nation accelerates<\/u><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0interest in sex plunges<\/u><\/a>)<\/strong>,\u00a0and allegedly a goose that lays golden eggs (well why not?)<\/em>.\u00a0The collapse of Abe\u2019s approval says it all about his \u2018plan\u2019.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Abe proposes three new policy pillars without tying them to his previous plan.<\/strong>\u00a0As Bloomberg reports,<\/u><\/em><\/a>\u00a0it has left analysts scratching their heads\u2026<\/p>\n

Speaking Thursday after his reappointment as leader of Japan\u2019s ruling party, Abe unveiled three new \u201carrows\u201d of his so-called Abenomics plan \u2014 a strong economy, child-care support and social security. When he took office in 2012, he had championed another trio \u2014 monetary stimulus, flexible fiscal policy and structural reforms.<\/p>\n

But\u00a0with the new policies sounding more like objectives rather than measures to achieve them, the risk is this fresh framework muddies his communication battle to encourage Japanese households and companies to spend rather than save.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cInvestors like details, but all he\u2019s done is announce targets,\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/u>said Mari Iwashita, chief market economist at SMBC Friend Securities Co. in Tokyo. \u201cThe growth strategy, one of the original three arrows, has branched off into three new arrows.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to reporters Thursday, Abe avoided mentioning monetary or fiscal policy, as well as tricky regulatory reforms that many economists say are already too slow. Instead, he focused on his new three objectives:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
