(NOAA)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;A large El Ni\u00f1o like we saw in 1997 and 1982 has a big impact not only on the U.S. and Canada, but (also)\u00a0all over the planet,&#8221; Patzert says.\u00a0&#8220;The signal that we see in the Pacific from space is actually larger than it was in August of 1997.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In 1997,\u00a0a massive El Ni\u00f1o brought floods, mudslides\u00a0and hurricanes.
