Forget, for now, about the beans and rice \u2013 how are you going to cook them without any water?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shtfplan.com\/emergency-preparedness\/a-survival-q-a-living-through-shtf-in-the-middle-of-a-war-zone_10252011\" target=\"_blank\">From a survival aspect<\/a>, you absolutely must focus on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/readynutrition.com\/resources\/week-45-of-52-long-term-food-and-water-needs_18052012\/\" target=\"_blank\">a long-term source of water<\/a>. \u00a0All of your best-laid plans will be for naught if you don\u2019t have water rights on your property, a collection system for rainfall, and second and third sources to rely on, as well as reliable purification systems. \u00a0Safe municipal water (although with the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theorganicprepper.ca\/huh-it-must-be-something-in-the-water-01082013\" target=\"_blank\">inclusion of all the toxic additives<\/a>\u00a0\u2018safe\u2019 is debatable) could soon be a thing of the past.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s beyond dispute that the United States is facing a water crisis. On the West Coast, where much of our produce is raised, California Governor Jerry Brown declared a State of Emergency and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/drought\/ci_27827780\/california-drought-gov-brown-join-water-officials-searchhttp:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/drought\/ci_27827780\/california-drought-gov-brown-join-water-officials-search\" target=\"_blank\">ordered statewide restrictions on water use<\/a>. On the East Coast, the water is plentiful but is polluted by chemical spills, as seen in<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theorganicprepper.ca\/are-you-prepared-for-a-water-emergency-deadly-chemical-in-the-west-virginia-water-supply-creates-immediate-shortage-01102014\" target=\"_blank\">West Virginia<\/a>\u00a0and radioactive leaks, as seen in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailysheeple.com\/a-radioactive-plume-in-south-carolina-is-leaking-into-the-savannah-river_012014\" target=\"_blank\">South Carolina<\/a>.
